To get an iPad prepared for an EL student, the process now involves just changing the name of the iPad.
Start by hitting Settings app, then General, then About.
Click on the Name field and erase the current name.
Follow this naming convention and then hit done.
For students in grades K or 1: ELK1
For students in grades 2 or3: EL23
For students in grades 4, 5, or 6: EL46
Then add a dash with the site acronym followed by a dash and the student username (first part of email address including numbers, but not @mylcusd.net). See example below.
Once naming is done submit a support ticket and ask for an update of the ELD iPads. A tech will trigger an update from our management server. The new name will be picked up and apps will be assigned and start installing. You do not need to babysit the iPads the apps will install in the background. It may take a few hours for the apps to install.
