“HELP! I want to see a Google Doc that was shared with my @lcusd.net work account, but it says I don’t have access! Maybe I’m logged in with my personal Gmail account? How can I easily switch between my different Google Accounts?”
Some files, like seniority lists, are shared only to LCUSD employees, and not available to the general public. To see this kind of document, you need to be signed in to your work account. Here’s how!
Look at the top right corner. If you see this icon (a blank face), you’re not signed in to Chrome.
Simply click on that icon, click Sign in to Chrome, and enter your LCUSD email address and password. Now when you click on the link to the district-owned document, you’ll have access.
When you’re signed in to Chrome, you will see your name.
“But wait! I do see my name there, and it’s still not working! ”
Maybe you’re signed in to Chrome with your personal account. Click on your name to see if you’re signed in with your work account.
To swap easily between your work account and your personal accounts, you can click “Manage People” in this menu and add all your Google/Gmail account. Swapping between accounts is as simple as choosing your name. We’d recommend choosing different icons and different colored themes for each account, as well as naming them MyName Work, MyName Personal, etc, to avoid confusion.
