California students in grades 3-8 and 11/12 take computer-based assessments near the end of each school year.
LCUSD provides targeted training activities to our 3rd grade students, who will be taking the test for the first time, and teachers across the grade levels provide more guided practice using the Interim Assessment Block exams that focus on specific curricular topics. Our schools, of course, prepare our students all year long by our rigorous and engaging instruction in classrooms.
Many parents are curious about what the tests look like, and the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress website (CAASPP.org) provides practice tests for students to use to explore the tools and question types on the actual test in April of each year.
The video below demonstrates how to access the practice tests at home, as well as providing a short tour of the test environment. Please visit CAASPP.org to get started as you watch the video.
