To use the PCY MPR Projector and Vivi system

The PCY MPR now has a Vivi system that allows for wireless projection. You no longer need to plug a physical cable into your computer to connect to the MPR Projector!

You also no longer need an audio cable; audio is wireless as well! You only need to turn on the MPR speakers. See notes at the end of this article.

Here are the steps for using the Vivi system to display video on the PCY MPR Projector: 

1. Turn on the projector using the remote control. It may take 10 to 20 seconds to warm up and the image to appear on the projector screen.

2. As instructed on screen, go to https://app.vivi.io

3. If you see this message about Show notifications, select “Allow”. 

(You may only see this the first time you use the system.)

4. Select the organization “La Canada Unified School District”.

(You may only see this the first time you use the system.)

5. Select “Log In” and if prompted enter your Google Account information.

(You may only see this the first time you use the system.)

6. From the Rooms listed on the left, select PCY.

7. Select PCY MPR from the drop down list. (Click on the adjacent star to mark this as a Favorite Room to be more easily found under “Favorite Rooms” on the right side.)

8. With PCY MPR selected, click the “Join Room” button at the bottom center.

9. Enter the 4 digit Room Code shown on the projector screen (it will be different every time), then click the “Submit” button.

10. Click the “Share Screen” button.

11. Select the tab for what you want to share (Chrome Tab, Window, or Entire Screen), then click the item you want from the pictures/list, finally click the “Share” button at the bottom. (The Share button will not be clickable until the other two items have been selected.) If you want to play audio, make sure “Also share system audio“ is turned on before Sharing.

12. Your computer is now displayed/mirrored on the projector screen! To disconnect from the Vivi system/screen projection, click the red "Stop All" button in the upper right. Then turn off the projector by pressing the power button twice on the remote control. 

If you want to play audio as well, follow these steps:

1. Make sure "Also share system audio“ is selected before Sharing

2. Make sure all the volume knobs (AUX and MASTER) are turned down (all the way to the left) for the audio system on the MPR stage. This will prevent the speakers from blowing out when the power is turned on. 

3. Turn on the main power for the system. 

4. Turn the AUX and MASTER volume knobs up to the appropriate level. Note that AUX should be BARILY turned up--it is very sensitive. You can use the tape mark as a gauge. 

5. Play your video with audio. You will probably want to mute your computer volume (not the video volume) so you don’t hear an echo/delay.

6. When you are finished, shut down the audio system by turning all the volume knobs down (all the way to the left) first, then turning off the main power.
